About Us
Hulsman Time Co. started with a simple question: Why are great mechanical watches so expensive?
Like many watch lovers, I admired mechanical watches but couldn't justify spending thousands of dollars on one. Instead of buying one, I decided to learn how they were made. After countless hours of research, plenty of broken parts, and more than a few mistakes, I finally assembled my first watch.
Today, Hulsman Time Co. is a small, family-run business operated by my wife and me. This isn't my full-time career so please give me grace on fulfillment times; I'm an active-duty U.S. Navy sailor. Every watch that leaves our workshop is hand assembled, inspected, and tested by me because I believe every customer deserves the same attention to detail I'd expect from my own watch.
We source our components only from trusted manufacturers in Switzerland, Japan, Germany, and the United States. Our goal is simple: build reliable, beautiful mechanical watches that offer exceptional craftsmanship without the luxury-brand markup. No watch is perfect, when you find a minor blemish know your watch was a moment of improvement.
This is only the beginning. Our dream is to one day manufacture our own components and create a truly American made mechanical watch; from the movement inside to the case that protects it.

The Rudy is named after my great-grandfather, Rudy Hulsman. He started his own electrical business in Indiana in the 1940s and built it through hard work and honest service. This watch carries the same Hulsman logo he used, and it's my way of honoring the family name and the legacy he left behind.
Like every Hulsman Time Co. watch, the Rudy is hand assembled and inspected by me before it leaves the workshop.

To celebrate America's 250th birthday, I wanted to build a watch that proudly wears the red, white, and blue.
At its heart is the legendary Swiss ETA 2893-2 True GMT automatic movement, housed in a Swiss-made 316L stainless steel case and paired with a classic Jubilee-style bracelet. Built for everyday wear, it's water resistant to 10 ATM (330 feet / 100 meters) and ready for anything from the office to your next adventure.
This isn't just another watch in the collection—it's the one I wear every day. As someone who enjoys being unapologetically American, I wanted to create a timepiece that reflects that pride without compromising on quality or craftsmanship.

The Legacy was the first Swiss-powered watch I ever built. After finishing it, I gave it to my dad for Christmas. His support and encouragement gave me the confidence to keep learning, keep building, and eventually turn this hobby into Hulsman Time Co.
